14-21 December 2025

A sunny winter week retreat right on the beach in stunning south Goa

There’s something extra special about practising yoga in India. Experience traditional Goan life away from the well trodden tourist routes, while also being within easy reach of some of the most famous beaches in India. Imagine watching the sunset from your bamboo hut’s hammock, yoga overlooking the waves and delicious food crafted from local seasonal produce… everything you need for the perfect week away! If you want to check out the Instagram stories from our last trip to this venue, visit our Insta here and choose the highlight called ‘India 2023’.

Shady beachside classes

What will the yoga be like?

We'll practice yoga morning and evening, in our spacious yoga shala that opens on to the beach. Start your day with an energising but mindful vinyasa flow on our shaded practice space that opens on to the beach. There will be ample opportunity for personal attention, and to advance your practice by learning how to adapt the postures to best suit the needs of your own body. Each evening we'll wind down with a calming and grounding practice drawing on yin and restorative styles of yoga, rounded off with a guided relaxation. You'll float out of our evening sessions feeling relaxed, renewed and restored. In addition, we will also practice some simple meditation and breathing techniques that are perfect for keeping the relaxed vibe going even after you get back home.

Our fully equipped yoga shala

Our venue is tucked at the far end of this beach

Where will we be staying?

We’ll stay in beautiful south Goa. The owners of our venue have years of experience running one of Goa’s most popular retreat centres further up the coast at Patnem beach. Recently they decided to move further south, after Patnem got steadily busier and more built up over the years they were there. We were among their first guests at their brand new retreat venue on peaceful and spacious Polem beach in 2023, and it was so good we’re going back again in 2025. So while we’ll be just a short drive away from the restaurants and bars of Patnem and Goa’s other buzzing tourist centres, you’ll get to experience a more peaceful and authentic slice of Goan life. Our beautiful new venue will be set among lush palm trees with panoramic sea views and is equipped with its own onsite spa and treatment room. Our venue is an hour and 40 minutes drive from Dabolim airport.

What is the accommodation like?

We have beach huts and cabanas available. The cabanas are slightly bigger, have an outdoor bathroom and glass front, while huts have enclosed bathrooms, are slightly smaller and have a traditional front with door and a window. Both room types are comfortable, clean, have mosquito nets around the comfy beds (and air conditioning in case you need it). All of our huts and cabanas have beautiful ocean or paddy field views and are designed to blend with the natural surroundings to help you reconnect with nature.

Our venue also has a limited number of front line beachfront huts and cabanas, which are bookable on request for a £250 supplement. If you are interested in staying right on the sand, please book your spot in a normal hut or cabana first and then send us a message here to let us know you’re keen. We can then speak to the venue to see if they have any beach front places still available and, if so, reserve one for you.

What will we eat?

Enjoy exceptional meals carefully prepared by our cooks with fresh, daily sourced produce. Before morning practice a light snack of fresh tropical fruit salad, teas and juices will be available. Then, after working up an appetite on your mat, feast on a plentiful buffet brunch of local vegetarian delicacies with fresh salads plus teas, coffee and juices. Mid-afternoon our hosts will serve a snack of chai, fruit and cookies, and then round off your day with a healthy but delicious vegetarian dinner. Help yourself all day to filtered water, teas and cookies. On our last night our hosts will put on a special celebratory dinner right on the beach.

What else will there be to do?

We think you could easily spend the week relaxing on our beautiful, quiet beach. Our hosts will also take us on a sunrise or sunset boat trip. But, if you get itchy feet, why not head into the local countryside and explore the nearby villages and countryside that most tourists never see. Or, instead, head up the coast and sample the great variety of local restaurants and beach bars at bays like Patnem, Palolem or Agonda. We will be conveniently located close to the pristine beaches of Talpona and Galgibaga beaches (Galgibaga is a well known turtle nesting ground) and have two secret bays within walking distance of either end of our venue’s beach.

We’ll have yoga free day mid week to give you time to relax or go on a longer excursion. Further afield you’ll find reminders of Goa’s past as a Portuguese colony with forts and cathedrals to visit. North Goa is also renowned for its nightlife, with bars, clubs and night markets a taxi ride away from where we’ll be staying. Or, if you’re feeling less adventurous, massages and treatments will be available on site. And afternoon naps are very much encouraged!

How do I book?

Click here to be taken to our online booking system. Choose our India retreat, then the room type you'd like to reserve and follow the steps to payment.

Please note:

  • If you are coming with a friend and wish to share a room you each need to book your space individually. But let us know and we can make sure you are in the same room

  • If you’d like to share a room but are coming alone that’s completely fine - lots of people do it! You will need to put down a deposit for your own room and if we have anyone asking to share with someone we will put them in with you. If not, you will have the room to yourself and will need to pay the full amount for your own room. Or, just ask us here if we already know of anyone seeking a roommate.

How do I get there?

If you are coming from London there are a limited number of flights direct to Goa and a wide range that transit through either Delhi or Mumbai. There are two airports in Goa - Dabolim is the closest and the one we recommend you fly to. We can arrange taxi transfers for you from either Goa airport to our venue, either alone or grouped together with other attendees to share costs if you wish.

I’m a beginner to yoga - can I still come? / I’d like to bring a friend/ partner who is a beginner - is that ok?

Of course! Everyone is welcome. Everyone who books also gets free access to our online, on demand beginners course, completion of which will set you up perfectly for our morning flow classes. And our much slower evening classes will be completely suitable for all levels without any previous experience.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely, lots of guests on each of our retreats arrive independently. There is always a warm and welcoming atmosphere with communal activities available, plus ample opportunity for you to take some quiet time for yourself too. You can choose to have your own room or we can pair you up with another lovely solo traveller.

CORY9230.jpg

Is it all group activities or can I take some quiet me time?

We will eat our meals together and people often group together to go on trips, take a walk or just have a chat. But everyone is also positively encouraged to take time to themselves to read, take a stroll up the coast, relax on a sun lounger, go on a solo adventure or simply nap in their room.

My friend/ partner wants to come just for a beach holiday and not take part in the classes - is that an option?

Yes! Everyone is welcome. Non-yogis can attend for a slightly discounted rate; please ask us if you’re interested in this option.

What is your cancellation policy?

Unfortunately we cannot issue refunds. Please make sure you have travel insurance that will cover both the cost of this trip and your travel arrangements if you cannot make it. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, for example injury/illness (including COVID or COVID isolation requirements), or personal emergencies. We also cannot issue partial refunds if you decide to arrive late or leave early. Your travel insurance should also cover medical expenses in the event that you have an accident during your trip.

What if the retreat can’t go ahead due to COVID related border restrictions?

If the retreat has to be postponed or cancelled due to India closing its borders, or the UK closing its borders so that I cannot travel to host you, you will be offered a full refund. If you are travelling from a country other than the UK please make sure your insurance covers the possibility that your country closes its borders but the retreat still goes ahead. If India or the country you are travelling from has vaccination requirements for travellers we cannot refund you if you choose not to be vaccinated.

What have other people thought of your retreats?

“Hello Olivia, I hope you’re readjusting to life back in London after an amazing Greek retreat. I wanted to say thank you for a wonderful week - I really couldn’t have asked for more as it was all just perfect. And I’ve been reflecting how much I enjoyed every single yoga class with you and how the stunning scenery and setting made it easy to completely switch off and focus completely and deeply on my yoga practice. I appreciate how much time, effort and planning you devote to running your retreats and I’m very grateful. Thank you. It was truly wonderful and I felt very fortunate to join such a great group of women to share my retreat with. I look forward to seeing you and the Greek retreat group soon.” - DM, 2021

“Thank you so much for a really great long weekend. It was all wonderful but if I had to pick the top three things it would be the yoga (really enjoyable classes and nice to have the option to sit out some/all of a class although I didn’t want to), the food (really great variety, quality and quantity) and the people (who were all lovely and the classes were just the right size). I would have liked to stay longer (although nearly did – thanks Easyjet) and I thought the whole weekend was an absolute bargain for the price.” - CB 2022

Where shall I start? Tears after the last morning of yoga, says it all. I had the most relaxing and memorable yoga week. The venue was spacious and perfectly located with amazing views! An idyllic place to relax with plenty of space to socialise. The freshly prepared and cooked foods and visits to the local village were highlights but best of all, I met, laughed and spent wonderful time with fun-loving beautiful people. Thank you so much, Olivia.” — AA, 2019

“Hi Olivia - I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the retreat! After a really busy period it was just the ticket and perfectly balanced in terms of yoga sessions, things to do and time to ourselves. You were also an incredible host and the sunset yoga was amazing!! I felt like I got a lot out of the sessions, all of which I'm hoping to remember in classes (although I'll put my hands up to possibly being lazy and forgetting at times! ). FYI, also going to be booking in for me and a friend for the January London retreat day :)” - DP, 2019

I have another question - is there someone I can speak to?

Of course! You can message Olivia directly here with any questions you might have.
